Is it OK to give my dog allegra for seasnal allergies? my lab has seasonal allegies... reactin is not working and a good friend of mine suggested allegra... would it be OK to use on my dog? She's under 70 pounds like 68 so would a pediatric douce of 60 MG be OK?

jessy replied: "no, never give human drugs to your pets. Call the vet. They will give you a suggestive medication."

judi f replied: "Contact your vet for an alternative med. Alot of vets will recommend Benadryl for Chlortromaton 4mg for seasonal allergies. Don't just medicate your dog on your own."

Here and There replied: "NO NO NO! Dogs usually show allergies through skin irritaions, not through their sinus'....you need to speak with a vet before giving your dog anything like that."

Marcie replied: "Call the vet. I would NEVER give my dog medicine based on a friend's advise.. .MUCH LESS strangers on the internet. Your vet will most likely answer the question through the assistant on the phone and you won't have to pay for a visit."

ⓜⓔⓖⓐⓝ *adopt from a shelter* replied: "NO NO NO NO NO. People medicine should NEVER be given to dogs without a vet's permission."

Can I give my dog allegra D? My dog has got hives this is the second time that she has got them, The vet told me to try and find the source and give her benedryl. I was just wondering if I can give her allegra D, instead of benedryl?

pinks2hott4you replied: "NO!!!!"

RT replied: "no"

Mr. Fancy Pants replied: "compare ingredients and see if it will work"

c21187 replied: "Compare the ingredients and see if they are the same if they are then you can."

whtecloud replied: "Here's a link to a question similiar to yours. Read carefully regarding the benedryl dose. The person giving the answer is supposedly a certified vet Tech. Unfortunately she doesn't allow personal contact through her email."

What would happen if a dog ate half an Allegra-D pill? So, I thought my dog ate half an Allergra-D pill today. I found it on the floor, cut perfectly in two vertically, with no chew marks. I have NO idea where it came from, I haven't been on Allegra in years. But still, can't be too sure. So I took him to the vet and all seems ok. But now I'm curious. What would have happened if he ate half an Allegra-D pill? Like his symptoms and stuff. He's 45 lbs. Not that I plan on letting him have access to one. Just curious! Thanks!

Does anyone know of a medication for people allergic to dogs? I am allergic to dogs and cats. My sister used to live with me with 2 cats. Since I am allergic, the vet gave us a liquid form of medicine that we gave to cats daily and after a couple weeks I wasn't having any allergic reactions to the cats. My boyfriend has a dog, and we are looking into getting a place together and I was wondering if anyone knew of a medicine to give to dogs like I was talking about with the cats. I have taken Allegra and all those other allergy meds, but that doesn't seem to work. Anyone know of anything or have had a similar issue?

What type of dog is in the Allergy Med Commercial? I think it is the Allegra or Claritin commercial that has the small dog. I thought they were called a Perkeys but I can't find anything about that kind of dog on the internet.

♥Love Herds♥ replied: "Perhaps you mean Schipperke? Prononced "Skipper-key" i'm not sure which commercial you're talking about."

What do these kind of questions have to do with Gender and Women’s Studies? Google is a great tool, if we don’t know what something means, it easy to search. I just go to the categories, where I want to read to learn something new or where I can answer because it is an area that I know. Why this section has little to do with the academic subject? Yes there is free speech, but hey, this is just too exaggerated. 1- GUYS: would u rather be naked, unable to talk & `stranded on the Planet of the Apes or be married to allegra? 2- Should neurotic [single] women with yappy dogs they cant controll...be destroyed by lethal injection? 3- Why do women whom go to jail always turn out sleeping with a woman? I mean they cant hold off for a man? 4- Do the women around here make better men then the men do? Can the great alpha feminists please teach us? 5- What is a "BACK PASSAGE"? 6-If feminists don't want kids why don't they just get tubal litigation and shut up? Etc…. In the last four pages 80% of the questions are like this. I don’t even open these questions, but still I have to read the title, unless I close my eyes. On the other hand, GOOD questions or FUNNY questions get deleted. Enlighten me please. Ok there is a lot of hate for women, ok express your hate. But could people post sometimes something more interesting? Or is it impossible? I know there are people that post interesting questions, but each day they are fewer and fewer, as people leave, because there is no real debate here. And I know I will get insulted, I don't care Fraxinus: yes it seems I need good long vacations from here too, fresh air and positive vives (gosh I sound so new age lol) Happy Bullet: What about us women that are interest in human rights and not in talks about cosmetics, dresses, or relationship gossips? There are men also that are not interested in talking about cars, but other social issues. I am interested in Gender and Women's Studies, it is not my degree, but it interests me. I believe in human rights (men and women), but not in denigrating either sex. Perhaps that is why I don't shut up, when I feel there are too many offensive questions. And before you say it, trolls like La Rose that attacks men, also infuriate me. It is just that those questions are posted more seldom, in comparison. I was thinking the other day, that after have been here for a couple of months I am more feminist than before, because of all the attacking questions/answers. I am sure I am not the only one. Ironic isn't it?

My son is allergic to cats and dogs, it's becoming a big problem, HELP? My 3 year old son has pretty bad allergies to cats and dogs, obviously I keep him away from them as much as possible. However, our neighbors have dogs and if he even nears the fence where they are, he breaks out in hives. We have been to friend's houses who have cats or dogs (not knowing ahead of time) and he will end up breaking out--so we obviously leave these locations. I always carry his medicines with me (Benadryl, allegra, singular and nasonex) but I can't always predict a break-out. Sometimes he if is around a mere stranger with dander on his clothing or something, he will break out. I don't know what to do. I can't lock my poor son in the house for fear of his allergic reaction but I don't want to readily expose him either. I need advice, anything can help. Thanks.

Dog Allergies--Allergic to one dog and not the next? Anyone have any ideas? I have a boxer (dog) and she's about 5 years old. This past Christmas, my girlfriend and I bought a female boxer puppy. My girlfriend is now having severe alergic/asthmatic reactions to the puppy. If the puppy licks her, hives develop within one minute (sometimes only seconds). The last couple of nights, my g/f has had to use her inhaler because she was having an asthma attack. This morning, my 5 yr-old boxer licked my girlfriends upper arm for a good 30 seconds and nothing happened... no hives, no asthma. A few nights ago, the puppy licked her in the same area only a few times and she developed hives. Any idea why my g/f is alergic to the puppy and not my 5 yr-old???? What can we do to fix the situation (OTHER than allergy shots, inhalers or meds [i.e. Claratin, Allegra, etc...]) --Both dogs are pure-blood, female boxers. (unrelated to one another).

darmill replied: "could be from something in the dog's hair that makes her break out. she should see an allergy doctor."
